Hi all. I'm sponsoring this fast-track case for Jim Marks. This
project adds a new agent to the Logical Domains Agents framework as
defined in FWARC/2009/426. The Direct I/O agent provides information
about all PCI-E devices of a particular guest to the control domain.

The one pager & updated LDoms Agents Specification are in the case
materials directory:

http://sac.eng/Archives/CaseLog/arc/FWARC/2009/609/materials/

Requested binding is for a minor/micro firmware release and minor/
micro/patch OS release.

This case times out on Monday 11/16/09.

Thanks.

-Eric

This new agent provides only one new message which is to provide
information about PCI devices. So it is worth adding a new agent,
or would it make more sense to add a new message to the device agent
which provides information about devices?

I think it could make sense to have a direct I/O agent if there are
plans to have more messages, and these messages are really direct I/O
specific. Otherwise as the current message is just about getting
information about devices, it would make more sense to add it to
the existing device agent.

If you keep the direct I/O agent, please change the message name to
MSGDIO_PCIDEV_INFO (instead of LDMA_PCIDEV_INFO) to make it more consistent
with other message names.

We are expecting to expand the direct I/O agent in the near future
for SR-IOV project, thats why we are keeping it as a separate
agent, hope that clarifies your question.

Thanks for catching this, we will change this.
