Hi, I am converting the subject case to a fast-track with the timeout =
set to 12/21/2009. This case adds three properties to the PRI in =
support of Static Direct I/O:

assignable-path Evolving Property in component PRI node,
                                        provides physical path of =
assignable
                                        unit (usually a PCI card).

rcid Evolving Property in root-complex PRI =
node,
                                        provides an enumeration of RCs.

directio-capability Evolving Property in Firmware node, =
indicates
                                        particular platform and firmware =
support
                                        IO virtualization.

I've also taken the liberty of converting the case from closed to open, =
on the basis of their being no compelling reason to keep it closed.

Case materials have been copied into the materials directory.

Requested binding is for a minor/micro firmware release and a =
minor/micro/patch OS release.

Thanks.

An updated specification has been placed in the materials directory that =
corrects a couple spelling & formatting errors.

The technical content has not changed; the timer remains set for =
12/21/2009.

Thanks.

Couple of comment.

Please change the version number and date in the updated specification
to reflect proper values for both.

Delete version 11 specification from the materials directory. It may be
confusing
to have both versions. The "diff" file is good to have.

All other properties under "firmware" node have underscore instead of dash.
To stay consistent shall we use underscore for "directio capability"
property
(change it to "directio_capability)?

The definition of the "assignable-path" is not very clear to me. Can we
change it
as follows?

1.3.20 assignable-path

Name Tag Required
---- --- --------
assignable-path PROP_STR	No

Description
-----------

This property defines the exact physical path of an assignable PCI-E device
(where ownership can be transferred to a guest domain). This path is similar
to but not identical to the path property defined in 1.3.9.

I think the interfaces classification needs to be "Sun Private" instead
of Evolving.
I see other cases defining PRI properties as "Sun Private"

I can't make this change without consulting the project team. Tarl, I =
think Raghuram & Jim are both out this week; is this change okay with =
you? I expect the only code impact to be to Zeus, which hasn't =
integrated yet, so I'm willing to make this change on your okay.

Done.

Assuming we get a timely response from the project team regarding =
directio_capability, I'd like to keep the timeout set to COB today.

LGTM. Make sure to update the PRI specification link on the
FWARC page to point to the latest specification when this case
gets approved.

It's not a link there. the file goes there, along with it's
full SCCS file, if there is one. That one seems to be missing
an SCCS history.

Well, what we have now is a link to the latest specification.
Actually, the Specification directory does not have SCCS
directory. I agree that it is a good idea to create one and
add all the history information for all the PRI specification
revisions.

Eric, would you be able to recreate SCCS history using
past approved PRI cases/specification? If you can not do
it then I can help with it. I think we can "search" using
PRI and it should give us all the various revisions.

As for other specifications, I think we should do that
if and when they change.

Thanks.

This case has timed out and is now approved. The IAM file has been =
